British Cycling has announced the venues for its major 2013 championships.
Following criticism about its 2012 scheduling, in particular staging the various veterans championship over one weekend and bringing forward the Knockout Cup (the downgraded British Team Championship) to the middle of the season, British Cycling have reverted to traditional dates, the Knockout Cup Final now taking place at East Park in early September.
Hopes that the 2013 programme would include the long awaited international test series between Great Britain and Poland have been dashed.
Looking forward, there are no scheduled international events for 2013, but in 2014 we should consider inviting Poland here. For discussion nearer the time, but to avoid raising false expectations again, first step should be to get a firm commitment from Poland before engaging with UK clubs said British Cycling in a statement.
The first big events of the season will take place in the South-West over the May Day Bank Holiday weekend with Poole, Swindon and Exeter hosting championship events. The full fixture list is:
