Congratulations to Newport's Mark Carmichael on winning the South and South Wales senior individual championships yesterday at Poole scoring a 20 point maximum.  'Lofty', as he is affectionatly known at the club, is a credit to the Welsh club and has been a great role model for over a decade and continues to improve each year.

Well done also to club mate Oli Sidwick who finished runner up in the junior event, Oli is another fine young talent at the Newport club.

CONGRATULATIONS FROM HULL - posted 3 September 2011

Congratulations to Andy Angell on his fantastic victory in the British
senior final last Monday from everyone at the Hull club.  We all know
the hard work Andy has put in to achieve this honour.  Also, well done
to Adam Stephenson and Matt Beharrell on making their second appearances - we are sure all these riders will feature in more finals in the future.  A great reflection on the Hull club to have three local riders in the British final.

CONGRATULATIONS ADAM - posted 13 June 2011

Astley & Tyldesley's Adam Phillips is the new British U-13 individual cycle Speedway champion! He took the title in fine style on the small East Newport circuit in South Wales on Saturday, finishing two points clear of runner-up, Will Tidball, of Exeter, who beat Stockport's Matt Turner in a run-off for second place. Adam took a second place off grid four in his first race, finishing behind Turner. He won all his remaining four races after that, to win the British title in convincing style, with a total score of 19 points. Many congratulations to Adam from all at Astley & Tyldesley Cycle Speedway Club.

THAT'S MY BOY - posted 12 June 2011

While young Adam Phillips was celebrating his victory in the British under-13 boy championship at East Newport, his dad, Lee, was 'ecstatic' at his son's success.

"In the 27 years I have been involved in cycle speedway, this must go down as one of my proudest day's in the sport" Lee told Spokesman.  "I would just like to say a massive well done to Adam from all his family and all at Astley & Tyldesley.  Well done son!  You made an oldish man proud" said Lee beaming with pride.
