TIME TO SALUTE THE BEST TEAM IN CYCLE SPEEDWAY! - posted 28 February 2009

As the 2009 Tour to Australia draws to an end, the time is right to thank a host of people who have provided spokesman-online readers with the best possible coverage from Down Under.  Our reports, results, features and pics have won widespread acclaim but it simply wouldn't have been possible without the enthusiasm, commitment and reliability of our wonderful band of reporters, photographers and contributors trackside in Adelaide.  So, on behalf of the 700 plus visitors who logged on to the site every day, our sincere thanks go to:

Pete Barnes - not only for reporting on matches but co-ordinating the daily 'feeds' and generally arranging everything
Mick Harley - for sending in the match scores, championship draws, photographs - and the odd forthright letter to Viewpoint!
Steve Copping - for religiously texting results within minutes of every match finishing
Darryl Daniels - for his wonderful photographs which has added so much colour to our reports - and his excellent reporting for Aussie website, Cycle Sports News
Peter Ford - editor of Cycle Sports News, for allowing a free exchange of pics and copy between our respective websites and his site's outstanding coverage of the World Championships
Steve Harvie, Ian Brown, Dave Murphy and Tim Jarvis for their written or photographic contributions
Brian Barnett - for having time off work to see Team GB fly out from Heathrow and being on-hand to capture the moment with his camera
and anyone else who has contributed in any small way to our coverage of the 2009 Worlds.

Thank you all

Introducing Darryl Daniels whose photos and reports, both for Cycle Sport News and spokesman-online, have done much to add to readers enjoyment of the World championships in Australia.  We hope that Darryl will continue to pen articles and send us more of his brilliant pics in the months and years ahead, keeping us up to date with all the news from Down Under.
